Nick Swisher (2 for 4, 2 HR) and the A's force extra innings, avoid the sweep. And Pathetics Nation deserves all the credit.

While watching the game on gamecast today, I actually saw AB help Swisher out on both HRs!!!!
AB---
Is oobergoober one of the AN regulars or something? I got that impression.
Did it take long to design PN to look similar to Asslickers Nation?
I don't know if oobergoober is a regular at AN or not. He's a pretty regular visitor here. He's a good guy--he insults me, and I insult him back, but we both love the A's.
It took a heckuva long time to get PN looking the way it does, but you've got it backwards: It's AN that is trying to look like PN, not the other way around!
;-)
I knew PN was the original!
I take it you've been an A's fan for a long time. I too love the A's, ever since the early 80's, but my defining moment was when Pops took me to game 5 of the 88 WS (ditched school, I was 11), and I told my dad Orel Hershiser was a cocksucker. That was my defining moment.
I've decided to write something about what a cocksucker Gabe Kapler is. The world needs to know that he hit .150 in Japan. Hell, I could hit .150 in Japan after drinking all day.
F Blez and F Boston.
Been a fan for as far back as I can remember--1970.
One of my most vivid early memories of the A's is of an infuriated Campy Campaneris throwing his bat at pitcher Lerrin LaGrow during the A's-Tigers playoff series in 1972. Gotta love that!
My first WS game was Game 4 of the 1989 series. My brother and I sat in the field-level seats along the left field line in Candlesticks-and-Stones Park, and we gave the Giants fans SHIT the whole time. We had brooms with us, and were waving them around like madmen in the final innings. We also had a sign that we kept holding up that said "Hum This, Baby!" in "tribute" to Giants manager Roger Craig's idiotic "Hum Baby" slogan.
Those were good times.
I look forward to reading the Gabe Kapler entry!
The old school A's were the best, but I was just a pup then, so my memories are about as vivid as they are of college. My mom ran in to Rollie Fingers in the 70's in Walnut Creek, and he was decked out in an all white suit. Pimp!
Hum Baby was gay, I'm glad you and your brother took that on. I went to Game 1 vs Boston in 2003 in Oakland. Best playoff game I've seen live. There was a beer station in the bleachers area that I kept heckling Boston fans at. I belive I told Theo to suck it after Ramon's bunt.
Just to warn you, the Kapler entry is a bit "edgy". Not for younger readers.
Fletch...
And you think Pathetics Nation is suitable for younger readers?!
;-)
I agree--Game 1 of the 2003 ALDS was a classic. Too bad they choked away Games 4 and 5. :-(
And I can totally see Rollie wearing a white suit!
PatheticsNation is probably NC-17.
You're right, Game 4 and 5 of the 2003 ALDS were the worst displays of baseball I've seen. The A's choked like Francona choked on Keith Foulke's balls that year. Byrnes should have been let go immediately (and I'm a Bruin, so that's a strong statement).
At any rate, 3 games coming up vs SF. Anything short of an A's sweep will be a disapointment. Anyone who claims to be an A's fan and Giants fan is a shithead. I rooted for the Giants one time at Pacbell, vs the RedSox. That's because Lowe was pitching, and well, Lowe is a douchebag.
