What is
Pathetics Nation?
Pathetics Nation is an Oakland A's blog. Here, there's none of that "In Billy We Trust" bullshit. And we won't try to sell you any T-shirts, either. (We don't need to--we have real jobs.) We love the A's, but we tell it like it is.

Today is one of them.

Open Thead: Game 158 - The AL Western Division Champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs. AAA's

By The Anti-Blez on Wednesday, September 28, 2005

QUIZ

When the teams take the field today, who will have the bigger headache:

1) The Angels, from all the celebratory champagne they enjoyed in the Oakland clubhouse last night;

2) The AAA's, from all the choking they did this month;

3) The T-shirt salesman, because he has no idea how he's ever gonna get rid all those "In Billy We Trust" pink ringers he's hidden in his closet.

Let's Go... Ah, fuck it.

Open Thead: Game 157 - Assaheim Anals vs. AAA's

By The Anti-Blez on Tuesday, September 27, 2005

How does it feel, Asslickers, to know that in just a few hours, the T-shirt salesman will be closing shop on Athletics Nation and turning all of his energy toward Halos Heaven instead?

Halos Heaven, for those of you who don't yet know, is the incredibly lucrative Angels fan website owned by the same T-shirt salesman who runs the morally bankrupt Athletics Nation.

He'll be spankin' his rally monkey and donnin' his "In Scoscia I Trust" T-shirt real soon.

Open Thead: Game 156 - Assaheim Anals vs. AAA's

By The Anti-Blez on Monday, September 26, 2005

AAA's need to take 3 out of 4 to avoid having the Anals clinch the division title on Oakland's turf.

With Chokey Chavez "leading" this team (and bitchin' like a bleedin' senorita about lack of fan support), it ain't gonna happen.

Open Thead: Game 155 - TexAss Rangers vs. AAA's

By The Anti-Blez on Sunday, September 25, 2005

A win today and a split against Assaheim means the AAA's can keep the Anals from clinching the division title on Oakland's home field.

That's the best we have to look forward to as the season winds down.

By The Anti-Blez on Saturday, September 24, 2005

Senor Choke has 4 hits is his last 38 at-bats spanning the previous 10 games. That's a .105 clip, Asslickers. And he's the guy that Beano and the T-shirt salesman continue to insist is the team leader? Pooh-thetic!

Now you know why this team won't make it to the playoffs.

Open Thead: Game 153 - TexAss Rangers vs. AAA's

By The Anti-Blez on Friday, September 23, 2005

Chokey Chavez "leads" the Pathetics into the final 10 games of the season with a three-game set against the TexAss Rangers.

Does it really even matter?

Well, it matters to the T-shirt salesman. That's because he still has a bedroom closet, er, a "warehouse" full of In Billy We Trust T-shirts he's still trying to unload on the few remaining Asslickers who believe that bullshit.

Off Day

By The Anti-Blez on Thursday, September 22, 2005

Today is the AAA's final off day of the regular season.

Senor Choke doesn't need to worry, though. If he's feeling a bit fagged (that's Brit slang for "tired," Asslickers), he can look forward to October, when the AAA's will have LOTS of off days.

Open Thead: Game 146 - A's at Boston

By The Anti-Blez on Thursday, September 15, 2005

Oakland begins a tough four-game series in the worst baseball city in the American League.

Boston is just a stone's throw away from Andover, MA, the same city in which the T-shirt salesman spent his youth, cheering for -- you guessed it -- THE RED SOX.

That's probably why he still owns a Boston Red Sox fan website.

(That's right, Asslickers. Your idol, the hypocrite who professes to "bleed green and gold" at the same time he's trying to sell you a T-shirt, actually owns a Red Sox fan site!)

T-shirt salesman, heal thyself

By The Anti-Blez on Tuesday, September 13, 2005

The T-shirt salesman is going to hell.

Or, at least his blog is.

Here's a "screen grab" of the latest advertisement in heavy rotation on his site.

We all know it's a sin to gamble. So, it must be an even greater sin to bet AGAINST the team you claim to love.

May the Lord have mercy.

Is there a bigger hypocrite in A's fandom than the T-shirt salesman?

Here we are, with just 24 games left in the season, and Oakland is only a game and a half out of both first place in the AL West and the Wild Card.

But the T-shirt salesman has joined the Bay Area media by jumping on the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS BANDWAGON!

The Giants' "playoff hopes" was the lead story on the front page of the sports sections of all major Bay Area newspapers today. A team that is 10 games under .500 is getting more respect than the A's!

And the T-shirt salesman has launched a San Francisco Giants Fan Website!

That's right, Asslickers! Your idol, the hypocrite who professes to "bleed green and gold" at the same time he's trying to sell you a T-shirt, has launched a Giants fan site!

HOW FUCKED UP IS THAT?

And it's not just any old blog. The T-shirt salesman is getting hundreds of hits every day at his loving tribute to the Giants. The only thing that seems to be missing are the T-shirts themselves. But I'm sure he'll rectify that situation soon. After all, how hard will it be for him to change "In Billy We Trust" to "In Barry We Trust"? Just three letters!

C'mon people. This is ridiculous. It's fine for somebody to want to earn a cheap buck or two by selling dumb T-shirts and running blogs for every fucking MLB team in existence, but please, DON'T ALLOW THEM TO DO IT ON THE BACKS OF REAL A'S FANS!

QUIT PRETENDING THAT YOU LOVE THE A'S, ASSHOLE, AND START SHOWING SOME RESPECT TO THOSE OF US WHO REALLY DO!

Let's Go Oakland!!!

Playoff-worthy teams win series. They don't piss down their legs the moment they have a small lead.

Last night, we saw a pool of urine begin to form at the feet of the once-mighty Athletics. So far it's just a trickle, but unless the AAA's win this series, the floodgates will open.

They MUST win this series.
