Oakland begins a series against a team that appears to be a pushover. But make no mistake--overconfidence can lead to devastation. The Yankees learned that when they waltzed into Kansas City on May 31 and left three days later, finding themselves on the wrong end of a humiliating sweep.

Oakland needs to respect its opponent this weekend. Otherwise, they will find themselves facing the Royals rather than the RoyAAAls.

I declare August to be Gimper Free Month. That means the A's lineup must be Gimper-free this month, and Gimper is not allowed to play in a single game.

If Macha breaks the rule and inserts Gimper into the lineup, then Macha dooms the A's.

I swear to God, that site has turned into a parody of itself. Which is no fair, because Pathetics Nation is the ORIGINAL parody of AN!

Funny thing is, I haven't posted there since back in June sometime, yet the T-shirt salesman is still having "problems."

Maybe that's because the PROBLEM is HIMSELF!
