What is
Pathetics Nation?
Pathetics Nation is an Oakland A's blog. Here, there's none of that "In Billy We Trust" bullshit. And we won't try to sell you any T-shirts, either. (We don't need to--we have real jobs.) We love the A's, but we tell it like it is.

Fun Fact
Sad but true: The T-shirt salesman who runs Athletics Nation also runs fan websites for the Los Angeles Angels, the Texas Rangers, the Seattle Mariners, and even the San Francisco Giants--all teams that REAL A's fans hate with a passion. .

The offense is certainly on a roll today. I think they've scored more runs in five innings than they scored in the entire month of May.

It's nice to see Harden pitching so well upon his return from the DL, too. He's the real deal.

That said, I totally agree with signrickey. A team that is five games under .500 and 10 out of first placce in a terribly weak division is nothing to get excited about.

If Beane signs Kotsay to an extension, robs a team or two with a couple of great trades, and the team climbs to 10 over .500 by the end of July, maybe we can get excited.

It ain't gonna happen.

Delusional...

The substitute blogmaster over at Asslickers Nation is absolutely delusional.

He claims that if the AAA's complete the sweep today, it will put them back into contention.

How exactly does being 10 games out of first place and 5 games below .500 put a team back into contention?

Man, I gotta get some of that Kool-Aid the Asslickers are drinkin'...
