What is
Pathetics Nation?
Pathetics Nation is an Oakland A's blog. Here, there's none of that "In Billy We Trust" bullshit. And we won't try to sell you any T-shirts, either. (We don't need to--we have real jobs.) We love the A's, but we tell it like it is.

Fun Fact
Sad but true: The T-shirt salesman who runs Athletics Nation also runs fan websites for the Los Angeles Angels, the Texas Rangers, the Seattle Mariners, and even the San Francisco Giants--all teams that REAL A's fans hate with a passion. .

Disgusting

The T-shirt salesman has begun soliciting (like a whore) cash "donations" to his PERSONAL PayPal account, money that he claims he will donate to charity.

The last time we checked, "Athetics Nation" is NOT registered with the California State Attorney General's Office as a fund-raising organization, as is REQUIRED BY LAW.

So, T-shirt salesman, explain away. How are you legally able to solicit "charitable" donations to your PERSONAL PayPal account without being a registered fund-raiser?

Oh, and the lame-ass excuse that you posted on Asslickers Nation--"It's like donating your car"--doesn't fly.

True, anyone can donate a car to charity.

However, the person or organization COLLECTING the cars MUST be registered with the State Attorney General's Office. IT'S THE LAW.

And, seriously, how many HONEST charities use PERSONAL PAYPAL ACCOUNTS to collect money?

Um... None?

We have no doubt that the sheep who roam Asslickers Nation will "buy" the T-shirt salesman's sales pitch. They'll give him their money, and he will laugh (at them) all the way to the bank.

But our friend in the SAG's office, on the other hand, seems rather interested in the $800 in "charitible" contributions that have been paid into the T-shirt salesman's PERSONAL PayPal account thus far...
